When Worlds Collide…

For the longest time, I have been lucky enough to call these girls family. We have been through everything together from our first sleepovers to high school heartbreak, and now the highs and lows of being college freshmen. However, my favorite thing about all of it is that we get to do it together. I always knew we would all thrive in college, regardless of the distance between us, but I never knew how full my heart would be once I got to introduce my childhood best friends to my college best friends.

Coming to college was easier for me than others because I walked in to “built-in friends”, who were my teammates, turned best friends. While we’ve only been in school for 8 months, we have all helped each other grow and navigate our new lives. I will sit around and tell stories with them about my “hometown buddies” (as Morgan would call themπŸ˜‰) because they are involved in any story I have. I finally got the chance to introduce them this weekend, and my heart has never felt so full.

Coming from Bluefield & Salem to meet in Blacksburg for Virginia Tech’s spring football game…a good of time as any to introduce everyone! Seeing your high school friends embrace your college friends is so special. The feeling is unmatched because all the friends I love get to be a part of both of my two lives. My Graham girls, that know nearly everything about me, get to see how my life and friendships are going. Along for my Roanoke girls, they get to finally put faces to the names I talk so much about.

I used to believe that I wanted to keep my hometown life and college life separate, but I love getting to share these moments with all my people. Everyone that I love and those that love me back all in one place, watching Hokie football and soaking up the sun….literally nothing is better. I’m forever thankful for each of these people and every adventure we get to take together. So to all my girls, thank you for loving me and being a part of both of my lives, life wouldn’t be the same without you!
